It was a female with the pointy abdomen. I got too close and it flew off, but it stayed on my plant for a good 5 of 6 minutes. First one I have ever seen, I am 42. Its wings did not look as though it had just emerged, although it is August 6, 2019 and this is the first day I have heard them this summer.

Date: 2019-07-30 14:18:14
Name: Salimah Fort
Location: Columbia, Howard County
Description: I discovered quite a few dead ones and I hear them very loudly in the trees

Date: 2019-07-30 08:42:47
Name: Maria
Location: Marlton New Jersey,
Description: high swarm activity at ponds around Country Squires development.

Date: 2019-07-27 08:06:38
Name: Meek
Location: Baltimore city
Description: It was on the porch door at night & you can hear them buzzing in trees

Date: 2019-07-25 12:21:10
Name: Linda Crowley Horger
Location: MECHANICSVILLE
Description: I’ve discovered empty cicada shells in pool, and pool skimmer, as well a 2-3 dead cicadas outside our patio door.
